We found a town mooring close to the Block Island Boat Basin. That was a great location because we planned on rowing the dinghy in to the basin to see if Pete Mott could look at our outboard. He is an auto mechanic with a shop next to the Boat Basin and we heard he was the only guy on Block Island who might be able get our outboard running.
I didn't mention that our refrigerator has stopped working (or is barely working and running continuously). Turns out there is nobody on Block Island who can help with that!
We decided to rent bikes to explore a bit of BI. We rode to a pub for lunch and then to the lighthouse. After a very interesting tour of the lighthouse, we continued a short loop back to town.
I thought I had fixed the issue with the motor by using some spray starter/carburetor cleaner and it ran fine getting us back to Owl Moon. We had decided not to take it to Pete. However, when we went to take the dinghy to Block Island Oyster Bar and Grill, it wouldn't run. Very frustrating!
So, we called the launch to go in for dinner. After dinner, we took a taxi to the Yellow Kitten for a comedy show. There are no Uber or Lyft drivers on BI. The comedy show helped take mind off the issues we had to deal with. Nothing to do about them until tomorrow anyway.
